Jack Wellby

I lead our Advisory Practice, orchestrating the resources and expertise of the Forward Institute to help partner organisations tackle their most important challenges. My focus is on growing our impact as a practice - transforming organisations by working at the intersection of culture, strategy and leadership.

As a practitioner, I work closely with senior teams to turn strategic ambition into reality - getting things humming with clear priorities, effective ways of working, and habits that sustain high performance. I’ve worked with FTSE 100 executive teams to design development experiences that stretch leaders towards the kind of leadership required for transformation, and with leading charities to shift from strategy paralysis to delivery with momentum.

Before joining the Forward Institute, I spent 12 years at the John Lewis Partnership in commercial and senior strategy roles across John Lewis, Waitrose and Financial Services. My highlight was leading award-winning work to redefine and embed the organisation’s purpose.

I believe work can and should be joyful — so I’ll always be having some fun along the way. I’m also learning more about leadership from my two daughters than from any book or conference.
